Hair extensions...clips or glue?
Glue will eventually ruin your hair. The latest trends actually involve shorter snappier styles which mean ditching extensions. If you do want to use them whilst growing your own hair then I would say clip-ins are best.Hair extensions...clips or glue?
Clips are great as they come out, lots fo my friends have them atm. They look natural too however be careful they dont fall oiut and cant be seen - not a good look. glue is a permanent method that would last for three ish months before you would have to have them removed and replaced, they are expensive and take a long time to have put in, clip In's you would have put in at the salon the first time where they would show you how to do it and cut them to blend to your hair, they are a one off payment and you don't have to go back every three months, hope this helps

Are there nickel free/sterling silver hair extension clips?
I wear clip in hair extensions and have been wearing them for almost a year now. My scalp is starting to itch the way my neck would when I'd get a rash from jewelry that's not sterling silver or nickel free. I can feel little bumps like a rash in the places I clip in the extensions and it gets so irritated that when I've scratched it once, I had blood under my fingernails. Now, It's not as terrible and gross as it sounds! It really isn't. But I dont want it to get a lot worse so I was wondering if anyone knows of any extension clips that are nickel free or sterling silver.

Is it normal for hair to fall out of 100% human hair extensions clip ons?
I just received my HeadKandy hair extensions today. They are 100% real human hair and they are clipons. My concern is that when I was brushing through them when I got them, some of the hair fell out. Is this normal or should I be worrying?? I've read so many reviews about this product, and it's supposed to be very good quality :[Is it normal for hair to fall out of 100% human hair extensions clip ons?

throughout your period of having them, you will see LOTS of hair fall out,
but trust me, it doesn't look any different.

Headkandys are very good, but not fool proof to shedding. Brush them very gently and only when necessary. You may also want to look into getting an extensions brush (aka looped brush) or a soft bristle brush.

Hair extension clips & Airport Security?
Does anyone have any experience going through Airport Security wearing hair extensions? I need to know if they would set off the metal detector. I wear them all the time because I have thin hair and want to avoid an embarassing situation. The last time I traveled I had a metal barrette on which was securing a pony tail piece. Security made me take if off and put it in a basket through the scanner. Needless to say, my hair fell off and it was a really bad experience. Anyone with any knowledge here?! I hate using clip ins- I hardly have enough time to put them in every morning, they stick out no matter how I apply them, they're uncomfortable, they get pulled out all the time.. blegh.

clip in! i have wanted extensions for yearss...and did all this research. And regular extensions are so expensive. You can buy clip in ones at Sallys Beauty Supply for $80 and they are real human hair and take 5 minutes to put in!!!!!
and everyone says they look so good. It looks so natural, and you can dye them and curl them and everything. I actually just washed mine today. I love them so much I wear them to school
seriously the only regret I have is not getting them sooner. I told my friend about them and she was really skeptical, but she finally bought some and now she is obsessed too!!

I don't like the permanent ones because they look fake from a distance. Especially when you move your hair around people can see the glue, or whatever that is.

I use to bleach my hair and had extensions.
There are different methods, some more expensive than others.
I used a product called Monkey Barz. Similar to hot glue and applied with a hot glue style gun.
When done it looked awesome. Problem, you have to re-do as the beads of glue get longer. They can still pull off or loosen and have to be maintained. I kept extra wefts of hair and the products to fix them.
Have someone cut your extensions to blend with your own hair. A good cut is essential.
Yes they can be washed as you do your own hair. Use good quality human hair wefts and good shampoo's and conditioner.
The hair doesn't absorb natural oil like your own so maintenace and conditioners are vital.
They are expensive if done in a salon and takes about 8 hrs to put in.
Do a google search and you may find better methods now that won't hurt your hair.
When I grew tired of them and took them out I had to use actetone to loosen the glue. My hair was bleached and some of my hair ripped when I removed them. Probably better to have them removed by a pro.

Hi everyone i was just wondering how clip on extensions look on african american hair. I actually have pretty good hair since i have a little creole in me but its still really curly. When its wet it goes from its normal length which is about shoulder length to below ear length. Also its poofy when wet. But i want to know if clip in extensions would work for me if i wanted a bra length curly hairstyle for winterball. How much would it cost to get clip ins at a beauty salon.

They are a little bit more expensive than the 'track' hair extensions that glue/fuse/get sewn in because of them being so easy to use.
If its real hair your fine to treat it as your own hair. Take out to wash (shampoo and condition) and use a moisturising spray on them. let them air dry.
Here in UK you are looking at around 拢60 for a full head so you may want to consider only getting 'half a head' which cost about 拢30 here.
you need to get a colour match and its best to buy from a store where they can do this for you.

How do I use hair extension clips?
I just bought a clip in fringe and they have these clips that are meant to 'snap' but they don't in the way I expected.
Lifted up the rounded bits so they were up, as it were, and I thought they were meant to snap down and then stay in the hair somehow.
Now one bit has has just snapped off and I'm wondering what I've done wrong.

that really depends on color and how well you place them. if you do them well and get them in tight.they can look very real if you do them well. get a realistic color (you can get them at sallys for like 70 bucks for real hair) comb your hair free of tangles, then take hairspray and spray where you r going to clip them in, tease it a little bit(but not enough so that it puffs just a tad) and clip them in. then brush the hair to blend it in. just make sure they arent to close to the hairline or the part. also dont do any major hair flipping or twirling because you might see the clips if your hair isnt very thick or long.Hair extensions? clip in/on ones..?

I've got human clip in extensions, I've curled them on a night out, the next day i wanted them straight so I washed and conditioned them, now they feel kind of dry not silky like before. Okay, hair extensions are processed before they have put in packaging, they have a covering over the accual hairs so when you curl them and wash them it strips the covering, therefor damaging the hair. you have to get relaly good extensions for them not to do that.
Make sure you are using really good products on your extensions. It is important to use good shampoo and conditioner on them, then a leave in condish, and follow with a shine product like Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum.

Okay so I want to purchase some clip in hair extensions because I want to have them a while. The glue ones I heard are difficult because they come out or grow out with your hair and look trashy. However I do not know for sure. Anyways I'd rather clip in so I can have them for a while, and clip them in when I feel like it. Though I am a little iffy, and do not know if they are good or not. no.. I couldn't have the clips stay in from there.. I had shoulder length hair.. then I used glue.. when I took the extensions out.. I had big bald spots and I had to get my hair really cut short like 2 inches.. and its a hassle for the clips to stay in.. wigs work a lot better.. but good luck..

no.. I couldn't have the clips stay in from there.. I had shoulder length hair.. then I used glue.. when I took the extensions out.. I had big bald spots and I had to get my hair really cut short like 2 inches.. and its a hassle for the clips to stay in.. wigs work a lot better.. but good luck..

Your hair could be to ';clean'; for them to hold in tightly. I'm not suggesting letting your hair go and not wash it for a week. But sometimes the clips hold in place better with hair that is ';a day old';. Try not washing your hair for a day, let your natural oils build up, and see if that helps. I'm getting extensions but i'm unsure how i'm going to apply them (I'm doing this myself so no fusion)

never buy plastic hair alway go for human, of course u can never find 100% human hair, it ha to be at least 40% plastic, of course not alot of pple see that but u can notice the plastic hairs falling out/tretching and flipping out in time. make sure the clips are correctly sewed into the fake hair, make sure that when u put the hair piece on ur head it matches ur back head and doesnt cover only a half, or is too long - it has to end an inch or so before ur each ear start. u should buy two layers of extensions, not too thin though they gotts be not transpearant when u hold it up. but not too fat either, so when under ur real hair - it wont cause a bump that'll look fake.
u'll have to wash them like once a week, wash them and brush them ALWAYs by holding it and rolling it in a pony then holding the root with the clips in ur fist . be extra careful with them, do not pull any hairs while managing - coz well - lol it wont grow back.

u'll have to wash them like once a week, wash them and brush them ALWAYs by holding it and rolling it in a pony then holding the root with the clips in ur fist . be extra careful with them, do not pull any hairs while managing - coz well - lol it wont grow back.

Ponytail hair extensions, clip-on or drawstring?
What looks more natural? Which is the easiest and best to use? I have tried on a clip on one with a butterfly clip and I feel it looks a bit obvious as it doesn't hide hair that well and you can see it at the top. I'm a only short so that could be a problem. Do black hair extensions (clip on) match real black hair?
I have naturally black hair, so in reality it's not as black as say, the wigs on American Dolls or whatnot, especially in the sun. If I get clip on extensions, will they look really fake next to my real hair? I have friends who use extensions and it comes out fine, just be sure that the color is as close as it can get and be sure that when you put the extensions in, your real hairstyle matches it.
I used extensions in a ponytail, which are easier to pull off. I just put my hair up, then slicked the front of my hair down and wrapped the fake hair around my real hair and no one could ever tell the difference.

It's possible. Just inform the security agent *before* you go through the arch that you have metal in your hair. They'll probably just pull you aside and do the wand on you; perhaps look in your hair.

so , first off before I tell you anything , if you are getting them to make your hair longer or thicker , you need to get your haircut shorter otherwise they won't blend in with your hair and it will be REALLLY obvious that its extensions , like you will have lots of hair on the top and these thin little peices on the bottom and you'll see where your real hair ends and your extensions start and its just bad aha , but if you are only getting them for the sake of adding colors , then your hair length is fine(:

Your probably not placing them in correctly.I have hair a little past shoulder length and have clip in extensions from Sallys as well. I find if you take the biggest weft put it up towards the top of your head so its covers the rest of the length of your hair place the rest of the extensions under it should blend in and your hair shouldnt be visible.You may need to play around to find out where they should be placed.

Do any of you girls know how to clip in hair extentions WELL? Like, I know the basics of clipping them in, and trying to cuff the hair to clip it into something, but it never looks like it did when the hair dresser put them in for me when i bought them. i wear clip in extensions, all i do is seperate my hair so a thin layer is down and the rest up. then i clip in the hair from ear to ear, let a little more hair down and repeat until i have the desired thickness. If you ever have bumps it's usually because you've clipped the hair into some of the hair that was UP, or that you've tried to bunch too much underneath it. Try just using a straightening iron on the hair thats bumpy on top to smooth it out.

Glue hair extension will wreck your hair and sewn in wefts hair extensions is not much better. And I would highly recommend using clip in hair extensions. Clip in extensions are better. They cost less and last a lot longer. I have had both and glue in which is like a waste of my money because they didn鈥檛 really last long. Also, I'm not sure where Cheshunt is, but if you're in the UK try finding shops such as Xtras or Claires near you as they also sell extensions at a low price. If you live near any alternative shops as well try looking in there, they're more likely to have the extensions which are really brightly coloured and can be clipped in randomly for a really cool and different look. I had a blue one for some time and kept it clipped near my fringe on the left of my head and it looked really good.

I bought the long striaght synthetic ones and they are okay. They tangle easy and you can't really brush them because the hair will fall out, and the texture is a lot differerent from human hair, so i am going to buy the human ones next. Make sure you exactly match your color and it will be less obvious. They are pretty easy to put in but it takes a few tries to find the right spot on your head so that you can't see the line/bump through your hair, but it you tease your hair at the crown it helps. I love them for a night out but they are too itchy and hot to wear during the day. Hope this helps!
